What was the first "skyscraper" built in New Orleans?
I've found different claims between the Latter & Blum Building (203 Carondelet, 11 stories, tallest in N.O. 1895-1904) and the Hampton Inn New Orleans Downtown (226 Carondelet, 13 stories, tallest in N.O. 1904-1907). Since there was no definitive definition of a "skyscraper" back in the late 19th/early 20th Century and were not exactly how we refer to the qualifications sued today, it's hard to tell which is the true "first", or if it's just whichever you choose because it's a toss up. Anyone have any knowledge on the subject or can advise me? Thanks.
