Great Things to do in New Orleans

Visiting New Orleans Louisiana can be one of those vacations you need a vacation from, when you get back but it is certainly worth it. The food and drink alone makes New Orleans a favorite among travelers and certainly provides for a trip to remember. Bring the family or get away with the boys or girls and this city has something for everyone.

When in New Orleans, one of the highlights to see is the historic French Quarter. With over 300 restaurants in the French Quarter, you will find plenty of wonderful cuisine, the atmosphere New Orleans is famous for, and shopping like nowhere else. When you are ready to relax and listen to some music, be sure to visit Bourbon Street known for its incredible mob packed Mardi Gras and no shame tourists. However off peak (non Mardi Gras time) it is a great place to kick back and enjoy the true Creole culture.

However, don't leave the city without taking the streetcar tour of the Garden District which is the oldest continuously operating streetcar in the country. The route takes you up St. Charles Avenue, past some of the grandest homes in the south, past Tulane and Loyola Universities, and up the river bend to Carrollton. You can add Cajun dancing, Horse Carriages and Riverboats rides and stay busy taking in all the sites for days.

For a great place to slow down for a little while, check out Faulkner House Books located in the French Quarter townhouse where William Faulkner lived while he wrote his first novel. This quaint place is just the place to sip a cup of java and take in the old town feel. Best of all this place is seldom crowded.

Another item on the agenda could be the nighttime graveyard tour. Departing from the French Quarter, get a midnight candlelight tour of the oldest and most haunted graveyard in Louisiana. This tour is especially popular around Halloween. Another interesting tour is the swamp bayou tour. Go by boat through the bogs of the bayou and come face to face with alligators and spectacular wildlife. Witness birds up close and see gators get fed up close by Bayou Billy himself. An optional part of the tour is a fast fan boat ride through the deltas and rivers of the bayou if you like. A trip not for the faint hearted or scared.

Last but not least, you can also visit the New Orleans Aquarium. See spectacular fish and sea life and get a break from the hot humid weather. The aquarium is a great place to visit mid day especially during the summer.

Are criminals becoming bolder?
I live in New Orleans and crime's are getting really bad. They are now shooting people on Bourbon street.( A major tourist attraction in New Orleans) and killing little children nowadays. Innocent children, and families and elderly people. On Halloween 16 or 18 people got shot and two died. They will do it in broad daylight and in huge crowds. I wish I could stop this. Even the police are corrupted. It wasn't as bad as it was when I was younger ( i'm 17) My mother is scared to let me go to Mardi Gras parades because it this. And I understand, I won't rebel against this one lol. Do know a reason why? Please and Thank You ^-^

I wanna know if with the wage they make per year its enough to support my kids and all.. I dont have any yet and my husband makes almost $50.000 per year, we live in new orleans.. idk how much a dental assistant makes here either.. so if anyone knows about it I just wana know if we can have a good life? not high though.. just no pressures with money? thanks! and is that career too complicated? help! :)

How to plan his party???(;?
so, I been with my bf for about a year. I been to plenty parties over the summer eith him snd his friends. I didn't live where he did but I do now. I know his friends. a few of the girls.. ans some guys but we don't go to the sane school. I feel out of place wanting to plan a party for him ( his 18th is may 23) but I'm small and don't kbow many people here. but I'm sure I could get help from some of his friends and keel it secret. but lets say I do pull it off. where should I try to have it.. like obviously a house party but what kind of house should I find? how much beer should I provide. girls fruityy drinks party games. how many people would be good?? music lists ? keep in mind we live in New orleans Louisiana. dj ?? westbank. the boys like rap and baggey pants. fades.. weed and rims lol I'm just giving some background.
