Can You Reduce The Risk Of Having A Heart Attack By Taking A Vacation Or Holiday?

It appears that the stress of our daily lives caused by a number of factors may be contributing to this phenomenon. As a result of this recent economic down turn, the workplace is probably the main reason or factor.

One of the primary reasons that this is happening is this electronic age we live in where we are so tied to our jobs that we feel we're at work even when we are not even there. Quite literally, we are only a phone call, an email, or text message away from our job.

Many people have the feeling that they're on a treadmill that's speeding up and they can't seem to get off. They may be working as hard as they can to try and be successful in their own business, or they could be constantly concerned about how long their job will be there for them in these recessionary times. It's the worry and uncertainty that can be all-consuming and can make people very ill over time.

This accounts for tremendous stress, trouble sleeping, depression, and a host of other stress related medical conditions. Even not eating properly, or drinking too much coffee or alcohol can make the problem worse.

It seems obvious many families have had to cut back on, or even eliminate taking vacations completely because of the cost of travel, although the costs of many holidays have actually dropped over the last number of years.

Perhaps the most relaxing holiday that you can take is a luxury cruise. It can also be the best value for your vacation travel dollar for a number of reasons.

First of all, you are basically living on a floating hotel resort. You will enjoy all of the benefits and amenities of hotels and resorts all rolled up into one neat, affordable, no hassle vacation. If you have never been on a cruise before, maybe now is the time that you should have this great experience.


Another great benefit is that you are in control of the amount of activities you really want to participate in. Or, you can just veg out and relax in a comfortable deck chair in the wonderfully warm sunshine and take a refreshing swim in the pool next to you. You don't even have to get up to get another drink or some delicious appetizers as deck waiters are always there at your beckon call. What an incredible stress free holiday!

You don't even have to unpack and repack your travel luggage again and again as you sail to ports located in different cities or towns along the way. All you have to do is enjoy all the amenities on board.

The only other cost to consider is a cheap flight to the port where you can board your dream cruise.

However, if you live reasonably close to a cruise line port you can probably drive there and save a significant amount of money. For those of you in a tizzy over Hurricane Gustav...?
It's easy, from the outside looking in, to say, "We shouldn't have to pay to rebuild New Orleans", or, "Why don't they just relocate the whole city???" My question is, where would you have us relocate four-hundred THOUSAND people? Detroit? Cool, you haven't done much in the way of making history these days anyway. Hollywood? Awesome. Who needs movies anyway? New York City? Okay, nix the Stock Exchange. Vegas? Alright, but then where would Donald Trump vacation? How about your little podunk cities of Dogwash Junction, California or Slickpoo, Idaho? Do you have room for them all? Are you willing to share your land, your schools, your grocery stores, your nail salons, your daycares, your hospitals, and your restaurants with four-hundred THOUSAND people? And while we're on the subject, where would you have the New Orleans business owners relocate to? Believe me, we're in business down here for a reason. We work hard to make an honest living, we serve the community with a happy heart, and we ARE what makes this city such an irreplaceable part of history. Never been to Mardi Gras? What a shame. The experience of Jazzfest escapes you? Sad. We have contributed for centuries to the heritage of what the United States of America is proud of and for you to just pluck us up and have us move...is a horrific thought, or lack thereof. So before you spout off about how your tax dollars are being "wasted" rebuilding New Orleans, think about how you'd feel if Slickpoo went under.

Dressing for New Orleans business trip....?
I leave on Sunday for a business casual dress business trip to New Orleans. I need help with my wardrobe. First, I am planning on packing several sleeveless items. Would this be appropriate for the weather there this time of year and for that business casual environment (am also packing a light weight black cardigan to layer). Secondly, I am planning on packing a pair of open toe slingback dress sandals which I can wear with dressy jeans and business pants- appropriate? Thirdly, even though it is warmer in New Orleans, it is still fall and I was planning on using chocolate browns and oranges to spice up my mostly black and ivory wardrobe, is this a good idea? I don't' want to look like I'm dressing for summer but want to be weather appropriate. Finally, I was thinking for semi formal awards dinner a little black dress I've worn to an evening wedding before with a wrap and heels. Please give me your opinions! Thanks.
