The best luxury hotels in New Orleans

New Orleans is host to a range of local luxury hotels in the French Quarter and some of the best charming small hotels of the South throughout downtown New Orleans. Casinos and five star resorts are also popping up as the city once again gains prominence and the boutique hotel scene is growing with design-influenced new properties hosting Mardi Gras parties.

Most visitors to New Orleans begin their sightseeing at the French Quarter (Vieux Carre. This is the oldest part of the city: a mix of clubs, souvenir shops, restaurants, voodoo vendors, and beautiful homes. Some of the most attractive cast-iron balconies can be seen along Royal Street. Royal Street is known for its antique shops and art galleries. Bourbon Street and its cross streets house most of the tourist bars and clubs, but the place where most people head for music in the French Quarter is in the area around North Peters, Decatur and North Rampart streets.

New Orleans French Quarter Luxury Hotels

The world-famous French Quarter is the most visited section of New Orleans and is the epicenter for the seasonal Mardi Gras parties. The streets are lined with restaurants, bars and some of the city's best luxury hotels. The Downtown/Arts District is almost as popular as the French Quarter and is perfect for visitors tat want to be close to the action without being situated directly on Bourbon Street. Located within a couple of blocks of the action are the five star Ritz-Carlton, the award-winning Windsor Court and a number of international brands including the Loews, the Royal Sonesta and the luxury casino-resort Harrah's New Orleans.

New Orleans Airport Hotels
